Fall in the Flint Hills Trail Ride!
September 27-28, 2014
It was a perfect weekend in the Flint Hills of Pottawatomie County! The sun was shining and the monarchs were migrating as 60 riders headed out Saturday on private ranchlands that featured panoramic views, cottonwood groves, hills, and ravines. It was absolutely beautiful seeing all of those horses with riders from 10 years to 80 spread out across the prairie!A delicious all-you-can eat dinner provided by the Loberg Grocery in Olsburg and musical entertainment by Bill Price topped off the excellent day along with a variety of door prizes. Homemade cinnamon rolls were served Sunday morning before heading out for a 3-hour ride on another beautiful fall day. Before loading up and heading home, a hot lunch was served from the previous evening’s leftovers. A lot of riders were asking if this could be an annual event. Thanks to the local landowners for allowing us to share their piece of heaven!
