KHC Foundation Scholarship Information

We are proud to provide Kansas Horse Council members the opportunity to be awarded an educational scholarship. One of the benefits available to our members is the Kansas Horse Council Academic Scholarship.

This scholarship is available to students who;

  1. are current members of the KHC (either Individual Membership, Student Membership, or  Family Membership that includes them).
  2. have a history in the equine industry (4H, Kansas High School Rodeo, FFA, etc.)
  3. can list scholastic accomplishments and community service.
  4. can provide 2 or more letters of recommendation.
  5. possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, if currently enrolled. An official transcript must be submitted with the application.
  6. Proof of enrollment or acceptance into a trade or other accredited scholastic institution will be required if your are selected as a scholarship recipient.

The scholarship selection places emphasis on involvement in the horse industry in Kansas; Scholastic Achievement; and Community Service.

You must complete the KHC Scholarship Application (click on link below or contact the KHC office for a copy of the application at 785-776-0662 or director@kansashorsecouncil.com). All applications must include an official copy of the student’s high school or college transcript, if applicable, and two letters of recommendation from persons other than family members. Forward these items by fax (785) 539-2928, postal mail, or email to director@kansashorsecouncil.com with the subject heading “Scholarship Application”.  Until all items are received, the application cannot be processed.

Recipients of KHC Scholarship will be selected by May 1 and informed by May 15. Payment will then be made to the individual winners.
